Recommended Weight Distribution System for 8K Trailer with Limited Bracket Location Spacing
Question:
Let me ask a previous question in a different way. What is the minimum/maximum range the lift brackets can be from the hitch ball? I need an 8000# system that will allow the brackets to be 30-32inch from the ball. Relocating trailer components to accommodate shorter bars is not an option. Also, are there installation instructions available for this product number?

Weight distribution is not simply based on towing capacity, but more so based on total tongue weight. The total tongue weight is the loaded trailer tongue weight along with any cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. That combination will give you the total tongue weight that you need for your system.
Based on your information. I recommend the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control - Trunnion - 12K GTW, 1.2K TW # RP66560. This system is rated for total tongue weight between 600 and 1200 lbs which you are sure to fall within the range of. The bracket positioning can be between 27 inches to 32 inches back from the center of the coupler. This will give you a system where both the brackets and the total tongue weight will work.
You will also need a hitch ball for this system. I recommend # A-90 for a 2 inch ball or # 19286 for a 2-5/16 inch diameter hitch ball.
I've attached a video to further assist as well as an article to give more information. The installation details are also attached as requested.
