Which Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizer Should be Used for 6K axles

Question:

I have a 2009 Forest River Wildwood Sport Toyhauler fifth wheel trailer and I just broke one of the shackle straps, so its a good time to upgrade the components. The trailer is rated at 12K total weight. The equalizer is 6-1/4 across center to center on the shackle bolt holes and its 3-3/4 from the center mount to the shackle hole center to center. It looks like the Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers - Double Eye Springs - Tandem Axle - 3K to 6K will work, but could I use the Equaflex cusioned Equalizers that are 6-8K even though they are bigger and give my camper a small amount of lift? Or will the bigger equalizer through everything off? Please let me know what is the best option.

Equalizers that are different sizes can always be used but depending on how much different the equalizers are in size will tell you how many other suspension components will need to be traded out.

Since the Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers # LC279687 for 3K - 6K and # LC279688 for 6K - 8K are only about 1" different size than what you currently have, either way you will just need to change out your shackle straps. These are actually not difficult to change out, as you have found.

I have attached a link to our selection of shackle straps for you to filter through to find exactly the size you are needing.
