What is the quantity of Snow Chains I need to Order For an Elk Hunting Trip In the Colorado Rockies
Question:
I have a 2009 Toyota Tacoma double cab 4x4. I need some chains for my truck for an upcoming elk hunt in Colorado, where tire chains are required in this state to cross the Rockies. I was wondering what quantity I need to order for 4 tires? My tire size is 265/65R17. Thanks!

Snow chains should only be required on the tires on the main drive axle of your vehicle, check with the state of Colorado to be sure. We have an informational article that has some general state by state information for you to review. In your case you would need to order 1 set of two snow chains like the Pewag # PWE3227SC chains featuring cam tightners and all steel square links that provide superior traction.
If you want to install chains on all 4 tires, because you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle and will be traveling off road in the mountains on your Elk hunting trip, I would recommend ordering 2 sets of the chains you selected.
