Recommended Ladder Rack and Kayak Carrier for 2017 Chevy Colorado
Question:
Hello, I have a 2017 Colorado and would like to get ladder racks and add kayak carriers for 2 kayaks. Can you tell me what ladder racks work well with this kayak carrier or is there a better combination of ladder rack/carrier you would recommend. I live in Wisconsin so prefer a ladder rack that can be easily mounted in summer and then removed in winter.

For your 2017 Chevy Colorado, I recommend the Thule Xsporter Pro Truck Bed Ladder Rack # TH500XTB. It is a confirmed fit for your Colorado, so it will fit perfectly and has adjustable height settings is you choose to use other accessories as well.
For your kayak carrier, I recommend the Rhino-Rack Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - J-Style - Folding - Side Loading # S512 and the extension # RRS512X for the second kayak. This carrier will fold down nicely when not in use and will give you the ability to safely transport one or two kayaks up to 75 lbs each or 150 lbs total.
If you prefer the V-Style carrier, I recommend the Malone SeaWing Kayak Carrier and Stinger Load Assist with Tie-Downs # MPG113MD or the MegaWing Sit-On-Top Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs # MPG207 which works well with the wider kayaks.
