Troubleshooting Lippert Electric Jack That Works Sporadically
Question:
I see your suggestions for troubleshooting. Weve changed the fuse more than once today and it may work for a few seconds then stop. Fuses are good as I checked each one. Its done this sporadically when gotten to storage to pick it up but just changed fuse and it worked. Managed to get it unhitched today for storage but lastly it wouldnt work at all. Maybe a short? Its a 2016 Jayco Feather camper. I also use a hydraulic jack to help lift the hitch on truck so not to wear out the electronic hitch.

If you have already changed the fuses on your Lippert Electric Jack # LC285318 and that hasn't solved the issue, a short is definitely a possibility and use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to probe the wire and try to find the short. Another issue may be the ground connection. Ensure this connection is solid with metal-to-metal contact that does not have any type of corrosion.
Another possibility is that the motor has simply stopped functioning and burned out, in which case the only option would be to replace the jack entirely.
