Brake Assemblies for 7,000 lb Axle

Question:

I have a 2014 Landmark 5th wheel with 17.5 inch wheels and 7000 lb axle. Will the 23-464/5 brake assemblies work on my 5th wheel? The description says up to 16.5 inch wheel, but I cant find one for 17.5 inch wheel. Also, I need to replace my bearings/seals/ etc. What bearing etc numbers do I order.

In order to get the right brakes what matters is the weight rating of your axle and the size of your drum. Wheel size does not really matter so long as the brake fits inside your drum.

For example, the Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-7-SA are rated for 7,000 lb axles and are 12" diameter x 2" wide, and fit that size drum; it is also important that you have a 5-bolt brake mounting flange so you can mount these brakes. If that is your drum size and you have that mounting flange bolt pattern, these brakes will work for you; it will require Mounting Hardware for 12" Brake Assemblies # BRKH12. If your drum is a different size please let me know and we'll get you the right assembly.

As for replacement bearings and seals, there would not be any way for me to know that so you will need to take apart your hub assembly and look at the bearings themselves; wipe away the grease and you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them. If you are unable to find them, you need to use a digital caliper to measure your spindle to the thousandths of an inch where the bearings ride. You can use the photo I've attached to see exactly where you need to measure.

If you let me know the measurements or bearing numbers I'd be happy to let you know which kit or parts you'll need.
