Troubleshooting a Tow Ready Wiring Kit on a 2009 Dodge Journey

Question:

I installed this product but the only thing that works is the right side turn signal. I tried it on a couple trailers and got the same results. Do you know why this is?

The first thing I would do is go over the installation instructions and make sure that all of the connections are being made securely. I attached installation instructions for you to check out.

If everything seems to be connected properly, you will want to use a circuit tester like the Circuit Tester Kit # PTW2993 and test the circuits for voltage before and after the black converter box. If there is voltage going into the box but none coming out except the right blinker signal you will know that there are problems with the converter box.

If there is not voltage going into the box you will know that something is wrong with the connections at the tail light assembly. You will want to check the wiring there also with the circuit tester to determine if that is the problem.

If you still can not find the problem you will need to just keep testing the wiring everywhere on the # 118474 and on your vehicle until you find the problem circuit and fix as necessary.
