Solution for Installing Sway Control on Trailer Where Theres Interference on Left Side
Question:
On the left side of my trailer frame there is a an emegency breakaway swith mounted and I also have a good weight distribution bracket mounted on th left side. The mounting plate for the sway control bar wont fit between them. Can I use just the plate with the sway control bar hitch without the mounting plate with 8 self tapping screws? The small hitch ball with its mounting plate will fit, but the second mounting plate is too long. Can I move the breakaway hitch and remount to make the mounting plate with 8 self tapping bolts fit? Otherwise the hitch ball plate has only 4 mounting holes.

You can use the Reese Friction Sway Control Kit # 83660 on the right side of the trailer instead as it sounds like there isn't interference there like on the other side.
You'd just need to pull out the insert piece and spin it 180 degrees and reinsert it so that it can be mounted and install on the opposide side of the trailer.
If you need to put the ball mount tab on the opposite side of the ball mount you'd then want the weld on tab part # 3442.
