What is Widest Crossbar a Vehicle Should Have
Question:
What is the maximum legal width of a crossbar that I can mount on top of my vehicle? Is it a certain number of inches past the width of the car? Do I have to keep within the width of my mirrors? Thanks for your help

Expert Reply:
You don't want to go with crossbars wider than the mirrors of your vehicle. Doing so will make drive throughs and garages hard to get through without damage.
