How to Install the Curt Hitch Part # C12182 on a 2018 Lincoln Continental

Question:

Ive ordered but dont yet have a 2018 Lincoln Continental?. The Lincoln video shows an MKZ. Is the installation the same for the Continental? I recently purchased a hitch from you for my 2007 Buick Lucerne, which required a lot of work to install. Partially remove exhaust, drilling, cut heat shield, etc. Im trying to decide it I want to do this for the Lincoln or have dealer do it. Your Buick video was great, but I dont see one for the Continental.

The correct trailer hitch for your 2018 Lincoln Continental is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C12182 which is a direct fit that installs using pre-drilled holes in the frame rail. The installation process will not be the same as a Lincoln MKZ. According to Curt, it is rated as challenging and will take on average two hours to install. There is no drilling or trimming but you will have to remove some of the contents in the truck. I have attached the detailed instructions which explains all of this for you.

The dealer also may not install an aftermarket hitch on your vehicle and if they did it would be very non cost effective. The best option to install this trailer hitch on your vehicle if you are not willing would be to contact your local repair shop or RV service center. If you can tell me what you will be using the trailer hitch for then I would be happy to provide additional recommendations for you.
