Using the Demco Recon Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Adapter with Buyers Products Flip Up Gooseneck Hitch

Question:

Greeting, Just purchased a 2007 Northwood arctic fox 29-5t that I will be pulling with a 2003 f-250 7.3 L diesel. The truck has a flip up gooseneck ball that was already installed when I purchased the truck used. The top plate and flip up housing bolts to the underside support rails that are welded in place. I of course would like to utilize this mount to tow the 5th wheel if possible since I am unsure that placing a regular bolt down 5th shell hitch will not be hampered by what is currently welded in. Unfortunately I can not locate a manufacturer label to determine what I have and the specifications I would assume that would be marked on the top but hope that you might be able to identify what I have and if this hitch is a possibility that I could use. Thank you for you expertise

I am fairly sure that you have a Buyers Products gooseneck hitch. It would be rated for 25,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 5,000 pounds pin weight. The ball size is a 2-5/16 inch diameter. With this you could use the Demco Recon # DM8550045. This 5th wheel hitch clamps around that 2-5/16 inch gooseneck ball and will allow you to tow a 5th wheel trailer. I have linked a video review of this hitch for you.
