Can a Converter Box Be Used on a 6 Volt System

The Hopkins Tail Light Converter Kit with 4-Way Flat Connector part # HM48895 will not work on a 6 volt system. We also don't have any trailer wiring harnesses with a converter box that will work on a 6 volt system. The issue is with the converter box itself as it is not equipped nor designed to be used on a 6 volt system. However, this converter box will only be needed if the vehicle's lighting circuit cannot handle the additional draw of the trailer lights. As long as the vehicle's lighting circuit can handle the additional draw of the trailer lights then you can use a standard trailer wiring harness like the 4-Pole Hardwire Kit with Circuit Tester part # 18252.
