Parts Needed to Use a Cargo Carrier on a Trailer without a Trailer Hitch
Question:
Hi I’m looking for a cargo carrier platform for my trailer. Needs to mount to the I beams on the frame. No hitch mount. Ideally it’s foldable as well. I’d like to carry bikes and/or a generator on it as well as the spare tire. Do you have something like this? Thanks

To use a cargo carrier at the rear of your trailer you first need a trailer hitch. Some of our most popular trailer hitches are from Curt and are parts # C13701 and # C13702. These are compatible with trailer frames that are 18" - 51" wide, they have a 2" receiver, and are rated for 500 lbs of tongue weight. The only difference between these 2 options is that the former has a 2" drop whereas the latter has a straight receiver.
Then for a folding carrier I recommend the 24x60 Curt Cargo Carrier # C18151. This carrier has a weight capacity of 500 lbs but it does weigh 70 lbs. This means that you can carry up to 430 lbs of equipment with it as long as your trailer weight limited is not exceeded. You will also need a hitch pin and clip # PC3 or a locking version with part # 63232 for a complete setup.
