Troubleshooting Extang Trifecta Soft Tonneau Cover That Flops In the Wind

Question:

Just recently l purchased the above cover for my new toyota truck. I was happy it shipped so quickly and the installation was a breeze. What l am inquiring about is this: At speeds above 55mph the cover really flops a lot in the wind. I read all the reviews and no one mentioned this in any of the reviews. I had one of this type roll covers in years past on another truck that owned, but never had this problem with it. I know it was installed right. Do you harve any answers or coments for me?

I reached out to my contact at Extang and was told that air may be getting underneath the Extang Trifecta 2.0 Soft Tonneau Cover # EX92830. To fix this issue, drop the tailgate and look inside the bed to see if you can see light coming through in the front. If you see exposed light, Extang recommends using weather seal to seal off areas where light is exposed. With everything sealed up properly you should not have further issues.

Using a product like the Replacement Cab Seal for Extang Encore Tonneau Covers # EX32000368 or Extang MaxSeal Tailgate Seal # EX1140 may do the trick.

I've honestly not heard of this issue with the Trifecta cover. Did you look for any gaps in the cover like what Timothy described above? Other than wind sneaking in to cause this rattle/movement, the only other thing I can think of is that the rail clamps just aren't holding it down tight enough. Do you notice a loose attachment there?
