Recommendation for a Cushioned Fifth Wheel Trailer to Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Adapter

Where can I find the number for my pinbox?The only number I have been able to find is 4VOFC292851005116.Can I use the Goose Box on my Lippert pinbox?

Unless your Lippert pin box is 0719, 1621 or 1621HD, the Fifth Wheel Pin Box To Gooseneck Coupler, # RP85FR, will not fit. To be certain, you may be able to contact the trailer manufacturer to determine if the number on your pin box indicates that it is one of the above parts.

We do have other 5th wheel to gooseneck hitch options that are cushioned. Convert-A-Ball makes a whole line of cushioned adapters that are not pin box specific. I would go with the 12 to 16 inch tall model, # CAB-C5G, because of the wide range of adjustability.

To determine just the right height you will need to park your truck and trailer on level ground. Back the truck up under the trailer as if you were going to connect to the trailer. Measure from the bottom of the pin box (not the king pin) down to the top of the ball. The distance is the height adapter you will need.
