Recalibrating Lippert Ground Control Jack Height After Raising Legs

Question:

I have a 5th wheel which I am concerned about clearance on my rear jacks. It appears there is plenty of adjustment. I was told by the dealer that if I moved the jacks to a higher adjustment I would have to have the system recalibrated at a cost of $135.00 and a 300 mile drive to there location. I attached a picture showing the jack position on level paved ground. I would like to boondock camp and feel I could cause damage if they hit something. Can you help....

You'd have to move the rear jacks higher and then recalibrate the zero point. It's not an impossible feat to do this by yourself either but I imagine a dealer would want to get paid for it.

The “Zero Point” is the programmed point that the trailer will return to each time the Auto Level feature is used.
Note: Prior to starting this procedure, double check all connections on the controller, jacks, and touch pad.
1. In manual mode, run the jacks to level the trailer. This is best achieved by placing a level in the center of the trailer and leveling it both front to back and then side to side.
2. Once the trailer is level, turn off the touch pad.
3. With the touch pad off, press and release the “FRONT” button 5 times and then press and release the “REAR” button 5 times.
4. The touch pad will flash and beep and the display will read “ZERO POINT CALIBRATION ENTER to set, Power to Exit”.
5. To set the current position as the zero point, press the “ENTER” button.
6. LCD display will read “Zero point stability check”.
7. LCD display will read “Zero point set successfully” once process is complete.
8. The system will set this point as its level state and the touch pad will turn off.
