Will the Yakima SkyBox 21 Part # Y07337 Clear the Rear Hatch on a 2008 Subaru Outback Wagon

Will this fit on my car without interfering with the hatchback? Will I need to attach it to anything other than the two crossbars?

In order to determine if the Yakima SkyBox 21 Rooftop Cargo Box part # Y07337 which is a fit for your 2008 Subaru Outback Wagon will clear the rear hatch you will need to measure from the center of the front crossbar to the line where the hatch and roof meet. If this distance is less than 57" then yes the SkyBox 21 will clear your hatch. If not then I recommend the Yakima SkyBox NX 16 Rooftop Cargo Box part # Y95AV which is also a fit but will only require 47" of space in the above location in order to clear the rear hatch. You will not need any other components to attach either to your roof assuming you have the factory crossbars that run side to side.

I have attached a review video for you. The only difference between the SkyBox 16 and SkyBox 21 is storage space. The SkyBox 16 offers up to 16 cu. ft. whereas the SkyBox 21 offers up to 21 cu. ft.
