RV Exterior Weather-Strip and Trim Insert Strip

Question:

My dad has a a special weatherstripping he’s looking for. Everytime we go to a trailer store they only have the regular weatherstripping, I was wondering if any of you could tell which weatherstripping is needed and what it’s called by looking at the door’s frame. Unfortunately the old one he had withered away so I can’t describe it well.

Don't worry! Some of the RV products we sell can reasonably be called by multiple names and it can be tough to search for something without knowing the specific term we happen to use.

For actual weather-stripping material we have two items shown on the linked page. Both # WS1434 and # WS1412 are sold as a continuous roll. This is adhesive-backed flexible foam material.

We also have what we call exterior trim strips, such as # CAM25202. The various items in this category appear on the other linked page. These are cosmetic vinyl trim inserts that typically slide inside a metal channel to hide screw heads. We offer this in rolls too, and the available widths are 3/4-inch and 1-inch. This material does NOT have any adhesive.

Based on your photo it seems like it is this vinyl trim strip that you need.
