How to Choose a Ball Mount for a 2015 Chevrolet Suburban
Question:
We just traded our 2001 Chevy Suburban for a 2015 model. The 2015 has a hitch that measures about 25inch from the ground to the top of the hitch hole. This is a lot taller than our 2001. How much do you normally recommend for this type of vehicle? Our old one used a 2inch and worked fine but this one is too tall for that. Any help would be appreciated.

Typically, we do not recommend a certain fixed ball mount unless we know both the distance from the ground to the top of the inside edge on the trailer hitch and the distance from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler while level. You will want to measure the trailer as well and then subtract that measurement from the one you took on your vehicle in order to find the correct ball mount which has the drop you need.
However, if you went with an adjustable ball mount then you could transfer it to different vehicles and you could also tow different trailers without having to worry if you have the correct rise/drop. For this, I recommend the Channel Style Adjustable Ballmount part # C45900. This ball mount offers up to 6" of drop and contains both 2" and 2-5/16" hitch balls. It also comes with a hitch pin and cip.
I have attached a review video for you as well.
