Can Curt E16 5th Wheel Hitch be Used with 2018 Ford F-150 5.5 ft Bed with Sidewinder

Hi, I was looking at the Curt E fifth wheel hitch, but it does not come up as an option for my truck 2018 / F150 / 5.5 ft box - just wondering why? I realize my short box would have issues with cab contact during tight turns, but is this a hitch an option if using a sidewinder pin box? Is this hitch compatible with my truck, with a sidewinder, or is there other reasons which make it incompatible ? Thanks,

If your trailer had a Sidewinder pin box installed on it the Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Slide Bar Jaw - 16,000 lbs # C16115 that you referenced would work well. You'd need the custom wedge for this hitch # C16991. For a custom fifth wheel rail kit confirmed as a fit for your 2018 Ford F-150 5-1/2 foot bed you'd then want the # RP50087-58 which is confirmed as a fit for your truck and will work great with the Curt hitch.

Sidewinders are pin box specific so you will first need to know what pin box you have now in order to pick out the correct one.

There should be a sticker or a stamping on the OEM pin box of the trailer that will list the pin box number that is on the trailer.

Once you figure out which pin box you have you can check the FAQ I attached that has a chart that shows the correct Sidewinder to get based on which pin box you have.
