For your flat towing system on your 2006 Jeep Wrangler X I recommend the Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM9519045 which is confirmed to fit. The kit pairs up with the Demco Commander II Non-Binding Tow Bar # DM9511012 which includes safety cables.
Then for your tow bar wiring, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This will utilize your vehicle's factory wiring and yet protect your vehicle electronics so you will have a really clean look that is safe.
For your braking system, I recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251. This system will allow you the convenience of just plug and play after the initial installation and adjustment. This system is our installation team's favorite because it is easy to do and extremely reliable. You will also need the # RM-88400 relay is required to prevent the towed vehicle's brake signal from overriding the turn signal from the RV when applying the brakes during a turn.
The final thing you need is a high-low adapter. I've attached and article to help you measure for your perfect fit and linked the page to your options. I've also attached an article on flat towing to show you an overview of these components.
