Thule Xporter Truck Rack Bracket Compatibility with Truck Bed Rail

Question:

I highly interested in getting a thule xsporter truck rack for my 85 f-150 with an 8ft bed. I know its an old truck model not listed under the recommended vehicles list but their also isnt anything stating it wont fit. I will try to describe my bed rails to you, 4inch to the rounded part with 3.5inch of mountable topside space, there is a rail lip inside the bed that is 1 3/8, the under side measuring in from the lip is 2 3/8inch deep. Im also interested if this rack will work with the thule hullavator, if so how easy would it be to take on and off of the truck rack as desired? This is the rack I want if it will fit my truck, any help with this matter is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks

As you stated, Thule has not tested this compatibility and neither have we. If I understand your measurements correctly it may require trimming or drilling the underside of the bed lip for a correct fit. I've attached a photo with the measurements for the clamps utilized on the Thule Xsporter Pro Adjustable Height Truck Bed Ladder Rack - Aluminum - 450 lbs - Silver # TH500XT.

The other elements will be compatible and the loadbars which are 72" long x 3-1/2" wide x 1-1/2" tall will work well with the Hullavator # TH898. This carrier is easy to take on and off as needed. I've attached a video to assist with function and have attached the installation instructions to assist as well.
