Installing the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top 2 Bike Carrier Part # HRF2 on a 2018 Honda CR-V
Question:
Hi, I am installing the Hollywood HRF2 bike rack on a 2018 Honda CRV. The top and bottom straps went on ok but the side strap hooks dont look like they are right. They just grip the thin outside flange of plastic and sheet metal of the hatch. I can send photos. Thanks for any help.

I spoke to my contact at Hollywood Racks about installing the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top 2 Bike Carrier part # HRF2 on a 2018 Honda CR-V. They stated that they have not had any problems with this rack on your vehicle and that the side straps do not have much tension on them so you will be fine installing them on the sheet metal/plastic that you are referring to. However, if you prefer a little more peace of mind then you could actually use the anchor straps with the foam pads that are included with the rack. However, if you are already using them for the upper straps then you would need to contact Hollywood Racks directly in order to receive an extra set. I mentioned this to the representative and they said they would be happy to help if you needed.
Please note that you should not use this rack during inclement weather. The rear windshield wipers will automatically engage when vehicle is in reverse and may cause damage.
