Will CE Smith 57-1/2" Long 1.8k Axle Work With 4 on 4 Inch Hubs On Harbor Freight Trailer

Question:

I see that you also sell this axle with 5 lug hubs. I am replacing a Harbor freight trailer axle that has 4 lug hubs, so I have 12 inch 4 hole tires. Can I put a standard 4x 4 hub on this axle?

Yes, you are able to mount a 4 on 4 inch bolt pattern hub on the CE Smith Trailer Axle # CE33201GA. I recommend the CE Smith Trailer Hub Assembly # CE13109 to pair with this axle.

To ensure this axle will fit on your Harbor Freight trailer, I recommend taking a hub face and spring center measurement of your current axle. There are multiple ways to measure the length of an axle beam, but the hub-face-to-hub-face and spring-center-to-spring-center lengths are the most accurate.

Hub face (A) refers to the length of the axle measured from the base of one wheel stud to the base of the wheel stud on the opposite side of the axle (when hubs are mounted on the beam).

The spring center (B) is the approximate width of your trailer. It is measured from the center of the spring centering hole on one side of the axle to the spring centering hole on the other.

This axle has a hub face length of 57-1/2" and a spring center length of 46-1/2". If your measurements do not match don't hesitate to contact me and I will assist further.
