Can 235/80-16 Size Tire with 80 psi on Sidewall be Run at 70 psi Instead
Question:
Should I run them at the sidewall recommended 80 psi. ?Was told by Les Schwab to run them at 70. They are on a 33 foot Voltage toy hauler

When it comes to trailer tires you always need to have them filled to the psi rating found on the sidewall. Your 235/80-16 size tire, like part # LHWL401 on our site, has been tested for the specific weight capacity and speed rating at 80 psi and anything that is higher or lower will mean that the weight capacity and speed ratings are unknown. This can result in blowouts and premature wear on your tires.
Unless Les Schwab has a special reason, and they have verified from the manufacturer of your tires that it is safe, whoever you spoke with gave you bad advice.
