Trailer Hitch Receiver for 1981 Brougham RV on a GMC Van Frame
Question:
I picked up a really cool 81 GMC Brougham basically a GMC vandura G3500 frame and engine with a Brougham RV package. Brougham stopped making RVs some time ago, and Im looking to find the right hitch for it. The typical van hitch might not work since the grey water tank runs in the back. Any suggestions? I thought about just buying the custom hitch for the G3500 and seeing if that works. Thanks!

Since your GMC vehicle was given the RV modification treatment and now has additional components not found on the standard version I think your safest bet is to use an adjustable RV hitch that gives you some installation flexibility. Odds of an interference issue are greater with a custom-fit hitch.
Our range of frame-mount RV hitches appears on the linked page and these products include both weld-on and bolt-on hitches with various weight capacities. These are made to fit a range of frame widths.
Curt 2-Inch RV Hitch # C13702 fits frame widths from 18- to 51 inches and can be welded on or bolted on. This hitch will enable use of RV-approved accessories such as a motorhome rated bike rack like the Curt # C18085.
