How to Carry 2 Electra Townie Bikes with a 2018 Subaru Impreza
Question:
I have a Subaru Impreza 5 door hatchback with a spoiler. I also have 2 Electra Townies, one mens and one womans style. The Yakima fullback 2 would fit my vehicle, but I dont know how easily I could carry the Townies with it. What do you recommend?

To carry your 2 Electra Townie bikes with the Yakima FullBack # Y02634 I believe you will need to use the Yakima Adapter # Y02531. This attaches between your handlebars and your seat post to provide a horizontal top tube that allows your bikes to hang level on the bike rack. The only other thing to keep in mind is that the FullBack has a 35 lb per bike weight capacity.
Another option would be to install a trailer hitch like the Draw-Tite # 76209 or EcoHitch # 306-X7350 on your 2018 Subaru Impreza and then use a platform bike rack like the popular Thule Doubletrack Pro XT # TH92BJ. This keeps your bike rack from making contact with your new vehicle and has the weight of your bikes resting on the trays instead of the adapter bar. You still may need the adapter bar so that the hooks have a place to secure your bikes. Another plus of this rack is that it comes with both bike and bike rack locks.
