Looking for a 16K kit for an F-250 2016 short bed model without factory built in 5th wheel mounts.

We have several Reese 16K 5th wheel trailer hitches and install kits for your 2016 Ford F-250 short bed.
For the installation kits we have universal kit # RP30035 and custom kits # RP50026-58 and # RP56016-53. The universal kit cost the least but requires drilling into the truck frame and takes longer to install compared to the custom kits.
Neither of the custom kits require drilling into the frame but the difference is that the rails are longer in kit # RP56016-53 which makes attaching the frame brackets to the rails easier.
For 16K hitches we have several options. For a short bed truck you will want to look at the slider models. The Curt A16, # C16521, is my top pick. It features a cushioned head for improved ride quality. The round tube slider is reliable and less likely to bind compared to square tube sliders.
You can actually use a 5th wheel hitch from any manufacturer as long as the hitch fits industry standard above the bed rails. So if you don't like your Reese options you could use a Curt, Husky, Demco, or other brand if you want. I have linked videos of the install kits and hitches for you.
