The bike rack I recommend checking out is the Surco 2 Bike Carrier # SP501BR because with a 75 lb capacity it has the most weight capacity of any bike rack that mounts to the ladder of a trailer.

The Surco uses brackets which will clamp around the 1" diameter tubing of your ladder and your bikes attach by the seat posts to the cradles so they would not be folded up when they are being carried. To protect your investments I do recommend using Cable Lock # e98891 to keep your bikes secured to the rack.
