How to Tow a 5th Wheel Trailer with a 2014 Ram 2500 that has RamBox
Question:
I have been told over and over again that I cant haul my fifth wheel camper because of my ramboxes. However, looking at this site makes me a believer, that in fact I can. I was wondering if I didnt go with the sidewinder with turret could I perhaps use the anderson ball hitch system instead? Its more at my price point, but im willing to do what it takes to haul my camper safely. Thanks in advance.

You can absolutely haul a 5th wheel trailer with a truck that has the RamBox like your 2014 Ram 2500. However, there is only one method that will allow for this and the Andersen Ultimate Connection 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch System part # AM3200 is not it. This option would almost certainly cause the trailer to come into contact with the bedsides. Instead, you are going to have to use a rotating pin box with fixed 5th wheel hitch like you mentioned.
In order to choose the correct rotating pin box you will need to know the model number of the pin box you have on your trailer. Once you find the model number you can then use the attached link I have provided which displays the list of rotating pin boxes we have available for you.
For a cost effective 5th wheel hitch that will fit your Ram 2500 and work with a rotating pin box, I recommend the Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30928 with the Reese Semi-Custom Base Rail and Installation Kit part # RP30035-522. The 5th wheel hitch has a pivoting head for easy attaching and the base rail kit is semi-custom which minimizes drilling.
I have attached a review video of the 5th wheel hitch for you as well.
