Hitch and Trailer Wiring for 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee that Doesn't Require Trip to Dealer

Hello, I am looking to get a hitch and power connector for my 2017 jeep grand cherokee. I have heard some rumors that if I purchase an after market kit for the power, plug it into my current harness that they have in my jeep that it will not power up without having a jeep dealer connect the power using a computer. Is this correct? Thanks for your help!

For your 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee we have trailer wiring kits that don't require a visit to the dealer. For that we have the T-one kit part # 118727 which would work well and is our most reliable option.

For a hitch then you'd want the Draw Tite part # 75699 which has best capacities and is least visible.
