Does Prodigy RF Brake Controller Act As Breakaway System
Question:
I have the Tekonsha Prodigy RF breaking system. The breakaway cable is NOT connected to the car when the chains are attached its just in the middle of the chains. I thought it isnt necessary to connect the breakaway cable to the car, because the Prodigy will handle it automatically if the trailer disconnects. If I need the breakaway cable connected to the car, do you have something so I can extend the breakaway cable so it will reach the car?

The Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # TK94FR does not function as a standalone breakaway system. You need to keep using your current breakaway system with this as they are separate systems.
The replacement breakaway switch part # FA80-00-2040 comes with a cable that is 4 feet in length and will work great but will require you to replace the entire switch with this kit.
