Prodigy P3 90195 Trailer Brake Controller and 7-Way Wiring Installation on 2001 Jeep Cherokee

Question:

Hello, I have a 2001 Jeep Cherokee that currently isnt setup with tow wiring. I am purchasing a small offroad camper trailer with electric brakes that will have a 7pin connector. I am looking for a top of the line trailer brake controller that will allow me to hookup with a 7pin to my trailer. Are your able to make a recommmendation? Currently I only have an uninstalled wiring harness that will allow me to attach a 4-pin connector to my Cherokee. I Know a 4pin-7pin convertor isnt going to work for this so I am looking for the best possible system for the job. Thanks!

I can help you with a recommendation for and the installation of a superior-quality trailer brake controller for your 2001 Jeep Cherokee so it can tow your off-road camper that has electric brakes.

The go-to trailer brake controller is the Prodigy P3 # 90195 which we know from lots of experience is a reliable performer that is packed with user-friendly features like a full-size display and storable braking power settings. Unlike other units with tiny displays the P3 does not require you to decipher codes to know what it is telling you. If you want a little more convincing check out our customers' review comments which I linked for you.

You will want to install the 4-pole harness you already have as that will be a starting point for the 7-way wiring you'll need. For reference I linked all such 4-pole harness kits we have for your Cherokee.

With this 4-pole installed you can then upgrade your wiring to the 7-way format using our all-inclusive brake controller install kit # ETBC7. This kit includes the 7-way connector, wiring and fasteners - everything you need to complete the install of the P3 and of your 7-way wiring.

A helpful video and article are included for you.
