Connecting 4-Way on Toyota Tundra to 5-Way on Boat Trailer

Question:

I have a 2015 Toyota Tundra Crew cab with a dual connector on, both the 7 blade male connector, and a 4 pin / pole female three sleeves/holes, and one pin connector. I need to hook this up to a 2017 Sea Tech boat trailer equipped with a 5 pin connector 4 male pins and one female hole

The interesting thing about a 4-Way and 5-Way connector is that they are actually compatible with each other. The 4-Way on your Toyota Tundra can connect to the 5-Way on your boat trailer to power its basic signal lights. The additional 5th pin/wire is what is typically used for the reverse light circuit. If your boat trailer actuator has a reverse lockout solenoid, this pin will need to be active. Otherwise, if the reverse circuit isn't needed, the two different style connectors can connect to each other without any additional parts and you are good to go.

If you do need the reverse circuit pin active, then you will only need an adapter like the Optronics # A75TB. This adapter will plug right into the 7-Way already on your Toyota Tundra to provide a 5-Way on the other end will all the pins active.

I have attached an installation video that you can also use for reference.
