Can Pop&Lock Tailgate Lock for a 2017 Honda Ridgeline be Operated if there is an Electrical Failure
Question:
Electrical parts do fail. How would the tailgate be unlocked in the event of the tailgate lock solenoid failing?

Does your 2017 Honda Ridgeline currently have a manual tailgate lock? If so you would just use your key to unlock it like you normally would. The addition of Pop&Lock tailgate lock # PAL8600 does not disable the factory mechanical locking mechanism.
If it doesn't have a lock you would have to get into the bed and remove the inner tailgate panel to access the locking mechanism if the failure was anything other than a simple loss of power due to a drained battery. If it is a power loss due to a drained battery then replacing the battery or getting a jump would allow the system to work again.
