Recommended 5-Way Connector for 2017 Jeep Wrangler to Hook Up to Boat Trailer
Question:
I have a 17 wrangler with NO factory trailer light wiring. I tow a boat with surge brakes using a 5 pin connector that uses the back up light to lock out the brakes. Short of doing a 7 pin connector do you have anything that will work?

We have exactly what you need to equip your 2017 Jeep Wrangler so that it can connect to the 5-Way on your boat trailer (and you won't need a 7-Way connector).
What I recommend doing is starting with a 4-Way connector. The Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118416 is a custom harness confirmed to fit your Jeep. It will install by simply plugging into built-in ports behind the driver side tail light. I have attached an installation video on your 2017 Wrangler that you can use for reference.
Once you have the 4-Way installed, you will then just need the Tow Ready Adapter # 20036. This will plug right into the 4-Way and provide a 5-Way flat at the other end to hookup with the trailer. The additional blue wire coming from the adapter will just need to be spliced into the reverse light wire on your Jeep so that it activates the reverse lockout on the boat trailer's actuator.
I have attached an installation video for this adapter that you can also check out.
