Recommended Ball Mount for a Jeep Wrangler

Question:

Hi. I am renting a Jeep Wrangler from Avis in Denver and will tow a rent travel trailer. The Jeep comes with a tow hitch The weight is fine. But the right of the trailer is 24 off the ground. Will it work ?

The Roadmaster High-Low Adapter part # RM-048-8 is designed to be used for flat-towing only and will not work to tow a trailer. Instead, you are going to need a ball mount. In order to select the correct ball mount for your Jeep/trailer you are going to need to do a bit of measuring. This process is best outlined in the attached help article.

Once you find out the correct rise/drop you need to keep the trailer level you can then take a look at our available ball mount selection which I have attached for you. As long as you do not need more than a 6" drop I recommend the Curt Channel Style Adjustable Ball Mount part # C45900 as it can be adjusted for most trailers and comes with both 2"/2-5/16" hitch balls.
