How to Pick Out Surge Brake Hub/Drums and Assemblies for Trailer

Question:

The bearing is a Timken model 68149. The ID the race 1 3/4 and the OD is 2 1/2. The drum is 5 bolt, 2 5/8 center to center of lugs. The drum ID is 10 inches. Maybe more than what you needed. The serial number of the other bearing is L44649. The ID of the seal is 1 3/4 and the OD is 2 1/2. The race is an L68111. The inner bearing is L68149. Missed the L when I looked earlier.

So the easiest way to replace the components you mentioned would be with new hub/drums and new brake assemblies. To do that I'd need to know a few key pieces of info. The bolt pattern on the hub where the wheels attach, the bearing numbers out of the hub or the dimensions where they ride on the spindle. With that info I can get you the correct hub drum and from there know which brake assemblies you'll need.

I attached a link to this page that details this process as well.

Awesome! We have everything needed now to pick out the correct hub/drums and hydraulic assemblies. Based on the bearing numbers the hub/drum you need is the part # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K. Then for matching brake assemblies you'd want the # 40715 for the right hand side and # 40716 for the left hand side.
