Can Roadmaster High Low Adapter with Lower Capacity that Tow Bar Be Used Safely

Question:

Can I use the Roadmaster 4inch high/low hitch 6000# cap with the Sterling 576 towbar 8000# cap Between my Winnebago Vista and Chevy Colorado pickup? Or should the hitch be an equal or larger capacity?

As long as the tow bar and high-low adapter are rated for at least the weight of the vehicle you are flat towing you'd be fine with one being rated for less weight. So if the 4 inch high-low adapter part # RM-070 will allow your to tow your Colorado level and the vehicle weighs less than 6,000 lbs this would be a great solution that would be perfectly safe. From what I was able to find your Colorado would weigh at most 4,520 lbs so you'd be fine.
