Higher Load Range Tires to Replace 225/75-15 Tires on a Travel Trailer

Question:

They’re factory tires that came with travel trailer and I’m sure they installed the cheapest to cut $$. We travel a lot and are currently traveling in the heat. The tires are cupping and no they’re not over or under inflated they’re just the minimum they could install 8 ply D rated. The TT is close to 41’ and upwards of 10,500lbs. Would like a tire that’s rated for heavy load under higher temperatures for traveling the roadways of the good ol USA without changing rims.. Thanks for your advice

The 225/75-15 is the largest 15 inch tire size available. To go to something bigger you would also have to change the wheels. Why do your existing tires suck? What sort of issues are you having? Depending on the problem it may be able to be solved by going with a tire that has a higher load range.

Ok, thank you for the information. I recommend going up to a load range E, # TR225LRE. This tire has a 10 ply rating and a capacity of 2,830 pounds at 80 psi. As you probably know trailer tires should always be inflated to the maximum psi rating indicated on the tire in order to meet the capacity and to avoid blowouts caused by excessive heat build up.
