Trailer Hitch, Wiring and Brake Controller for 2013 Audi Q7 TDI Without Tow Package
Question:
I am going to purchase a 2013 Audi Q7 TDI. It does not have a towing pacakage. What do you recommend for hitch, wiring harness and electric brake controller.

For the 2013 Audi Q7 I recommend the Draw-Tite 2-inch hitch # 75950 which offers no-drill installation. For ball mount and hitch ball flexibility you can use the multi-part kit # 989900 that includes two sizes of hitch ball (1-7/8-inch and 2-inch) and two ball mounts, along with pins and clips.
For wiring and a brake controller you'll need to start with a 4-pole harness # 119250KIT and then convert that to the 7-way format using brake controller installation kit # ETBC7L. Then for a brake controller I recommend the Curt Echo # C51180 which is shown in the linked video.
I also linked a helpful hitch installation article and one concerning safe towing practices.
