Recommended 5th Wheel Base Rails and Sliding Hitch for 2003 Ford F-250 with 6-3/4 Foot Bed

Question:

I actually don't see any brackets that were left, or any sign of a previous fifth wheel hitch for that matter. I think the bolts are just what attach the bed to the frame. Is there a install kit that works with my truck that requires none or minimum drilling into the frame?

It sounds like he has the brackets and left them for you. So I recommend the Reese Universal Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches - 10 Bolt # RP58058. Then I recommend the Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R16 Slider - Dual Jaw - 16,000 lbs # C16521 or the 20K # C16541 for your sliding hitch. Both these hitch options have a geared tooth locking system on the jaw and have a vibration isolating beam for a smoother ride.

You may also be interested in the wiring harness # 50-97-410 for a second 7-way in the bed of your truck for easy connection access.

Absolutely. For your truck you will want the Reese Quick-Install Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP50082-58. This will give you the custom brackets that require no drilling into the frame (it utilizes factory holes already present) and gives you the rails and hardware needed.
