Tire Recommendations for 205/75 R14 Tires for 2006 Rockwood Roo

Question:

I need to buy two new tires for my Roo. One of the axles is bent which wears out tires faster but I was told that it would be cheaper in the long run to just replace the tires instead of the axle because I dont put a lot of annual miles on it. The tire dealer Ive been going to for years has just closed his business so Im trying to figure out the best brand of tire for my needs, quality and price. Ive used 6 ply in the past. My trailer is a 2006 Rockwood Roo 23RSL. Thank you.

First off I recommend replacing your axle in the long run. Even though it may be less expensive to keep replacing tires it's not certainly safe to be towing a trailer with a bent axle. It also is going to be a lot less hassle with a new axle so you don't keep replacing tires all of the time.

With that being said, I recommend the Taskmaster # TR20514 for a good replacement tire. It's a 25/75R14 like you have now and is rated for 1,760 pounds at 50 psi. It also has an 81 mph speed rating which is higher than a lot of trailer tires.

I've linked a video review of the Taskmaster for you. As well as some help articles on tires.
