Can Two 6V Batteries be Wired in Series with 7 Foot Distance Between Them

Question:

I have 2 6 volts wired in series for 12v. One is on each side of the camper with a run of about 7foot of cable to connect them. Is this distance too long? In past campers, I had room for both batteries right next to each other. Now I dont. Thanks

The 7 foot wire between your two 6V batteries may result in a bit of a voltage drop on the output. The exact amount, if any, will also depend on what wire gauge you are using on the batteries. I do recommend using a thicker gauge wire for your application, as this will present less resistance to the current flow to help with this distance.

You can use 10 gauge wire like # 10-1-1, which is sold by the foot.
