Can 4.80-12 Size Tires be Used to Replace 145/80-12 Size Tires

Question:

I need a replacement tire for a 145 / 80 / R12. No one has them in my area. But they do have the 4.80 R12 my question is can I replace the 145 / 8 0 / R12 with a 4.80 R12? I only need one so will it throw the driving off or make a whole lot of difference if the other ones are the 145 / 80 / R12?

I never recommend having different tires on your trailer at the same time. Maybe if one is a spare and you're only using for a short distance in an emergency but not for regular towing by any means. If you're going to change one tire to a 4.80-12 then I recommend changing both of them. The 4.80-12 tires are about an inch smaller in diameter and 3/4 of an inch skinnier so you won't have an issue with clearance.

On the other hand we do carry 145/80R12 size tires. We part # AM10130 which has a maximum capacity of 1,220 pounds at 65 psi and part # AM10140 which has a maximum capacity of 1,520 pounds at 80 psi. Both are radial tires like you have now.
