Recommended Brake Controller and Wiring Harness on 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Question:

I have installed a hitch, wiring harness and appropriate brackets on my Jeep Grand Cherokee 2016 and have had the dealership reprogram the computer to turn on the wiring. When they do that, does it also turn on the wiring for the brake controller too? I am about to install a brake controller and appropriate wiring harness adapter. I have found the port to plug it into and am not sure if it will be active when I do plug it in.

Because you have had the dealership turn on your factory wiring, the brake controller wiring will also be active. I recommend using the wiring harness # TK93VR and the Prodigy P3 Brake Controller # 90195. This combination will allow you to simply plug and play at this point and will give you trailer braking at the same time and with the same intensity as you hit the brake pedal. It will also give you a LCD screen for easy diagnostic information.
