Recommended Reese Weight Distribution System for 2008 Jayco Jayflight 17 Foot Camper

I am looking for a weight distribution hitch to use with my 2008 jayco jayflight 17foot camper towing with a 1999 toyota 4runner. The camper has a dry weight of 3000lbs and a tongue weight of 400lbs. I am currently looking at these two hithces and was wondering if you could point out what the difference is between the Reese and RB3 hitches.

The Reese Round Bar Weight Distribution Kit with Shank # RP67509 or the Pro Series RB3 Weight Distribution System with Shank # PS49582 are the best fit options for your 2008 Jayco Jayflight and 1999 Toyota 4Runner. The difference between these systems is the way the bars connect into the head. The RB3 is the more common style and allows grease to be added with integrated grease zerks.

These two systems are a good fit for your trailer's tongue weight once loaded for travel and accounts for any cargo weight behind the rear axle of your 4Runner as well. I've attached an article to further assist.

You will also need a hitch ball like # A-90 for a 2 inch diameter or # 19286 for a 2-5/16 inch diameter. I also recommend using the Reese Friction Sway Control Kit # 83660 to make your trip easier by helping control trailer sway.
