Can Thule Helium Aero Carry 40 lb and 26 lb Bikes
Question:
My bike weighs 40 lbs and my friends bike is 26 pounds. Thule says maximum 35 lbs per bike. Would it be alright to carry since combine weight is under 70 pounds?

I spoke with my contact at Thule who said that since your one bike is only 5 lbs heavier than the 35 lb limit and combined your bikes weigh under 70 lbs you can use your 40 lb and 26 lb bike on the Thule Helium Aero # TH9042PRO. They recommended putting the heavier bike in the position closer to the vehicle.
If any of your bikes have an alternative frame that doesn't have a horizontal cross tube like a traditional man's bike then an adapter bar like part # Y02531 is recommended. This will help keep your bike level and increase ground clearance.
