Replacement Axle Solution for Trailer with Damaged Spindle

Question:

I have a boat trailer where I went to change bearings this weekend and one of the spindles in really eaten up. I am curious if etrailers can tell me if this part is replaceable or if I need a new axle. Also can you direct me on how to measure these parts so that I can send those to you so you can direct me to the correct parts. Pictures available upon request. Thank you

Replacing spindles is pretty involved and requires special jigs so that you can make sure they are attached perfectly square. Failure to do this will cause alignment issues so typically it's just easiest to go with new axles.

You are going to need to measure your current axles in a few places to get the correct one as we don't have access to what your numbers reference.

You will need to measure from hub face to hub face and then from the spring seat centers. You will also need to know what bolt pattern you have on your current hubs. I attached a help article on how to determine this as well.

I also attached a link to a page with all of the axles we carry. You'll also need to know the capacity needed for the axle as well.
