Installing Trailer Wiring Harness on 1994 Ford F-350 Flat Bed with 5 Wires
Question:
I have a 1994 f350 dually powerstroke. I installed a flatbed and also need to install a plug to hook up a stock trailer or flatbed hay trailer. I have 5 wires.. right, left, stop, tail, backup. What plug do I need?

Your best option for installing a trailer wiring connector on your 1994 Ford F-350 flat bed is with the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7. The trailers you described towing in your question are most likely equipped with electric brakes and a 7-Way connector (just let me know if that is not the case). This wiring kit includes everything needed to install a fully functional 7-Way, along with the additional wiring and circuit breakers needed to install a trailer brake controller.
This kit typically installs by first plugging directly into a an existing 4-Way, but since you just have the bare wires at the rear of the truck, the 4-Way on the harness can be cut off and you will just connect those wires by function. I have attached an article that goes into much greater depth as to how everything installs that you can look through.
For a trailer brake controller, I highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885. This is an excellent, proportional controller that will activate the trailer brakes at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your F-350.
I have attached a general wiring diagram for trailer brake controller installations that you might also find helpful.
